Calling all blog writers - Eagle Leather needs YOU!

LGBTQI+ sex positive passionate peeps, have you got the lockdown blues? We've got a great project for you to sink your teeth into while you're stuck at home!

Eagle Leather is looking for experienced blog writers for ad hoc paid work on queer, leather, BDSM, sexuality, and local LGBTQI+ community news & spotlights. We are incredibly excited to have been approved for a grant to help our business and our community through the Victorian Government's "Revitalising the LGBTQI+ Sector" Grants. We put forward a proposal that would not only benefit our business and help us get ahead, but also assist LGBTQI+ folks that are out of work due to the lockdown or due to COVID-19 circumstances in general. We are extremely grateful to have been awarded this grant from the State Government and can't wait to put the money to good use!

Due to the nature of the grant, this offer is only open to people living in Victoria. Your ABN (or ability to generate one) is essential as all work must be invoiced.

The right applicant will be sex positive, have a strong understanding of sexuality and gender awareness, and generally fit in with Eagle Leather's strong sense of ethics. The content we desire will be upbeat and educational, show a strong understanding of the chosen topics, solid principles, attention to detail and excellent written abilities. You can check out some other blogs we have written here.

Eagle Leather likes to promote inclusivity, cultural diversity, body positivity and an overall light hearted and fun approach to the world of sexuality, despite the intense nature of some of our products. Writing for Eagle Leather means taking into account the reader, whomever they may be and however they might identify, by ensuring the language and intent does not marginalise or make anyone feel unwelcome, kink shamed or not ‘enough’. We support every section of our LGBTQI+ community regardless of race, gender, religion, age or body type. Our way of doing business is always with positivity and kindness and to go with that we don’t get involved in any scene politics or polarising opinions.

The aim of this work is to stimulate the economy by hiring local community members who are out of work, especially those in the arts, whose industry has been decimated by COVID. We are also looking to amplify marginalised voices, including people of colour and transgender/non-binary identities. We are hoping to educate on a wide range of topics from how to administer a great spanking, to Melbourne's LGBTQI+ history, and encompassing rarely covered topics such as disability and sexuality, harm minimisation and inclusivity. As well, the blog will look to share uplifting stories of compassion, awareness and visibility to help our community reconnect in a post-pandemic world.

Understanding of SEO and ability to incorporate elements which assist in site rankings is a plus, but not essential as we can explain the basics to you before you write your blog/s for us.

Please submit your works (prior blogs, published articles, essays, etc) and a little about yourself to [email protected] for our review. If you are successful in your application, we will be in contact with you so we can brainstorm topics we are both excited about exploring.
