The Victorian government is set to consider fully decriminalising sex work this year. In this PODCAST, guest producer Carly Godden traces how, over the eras, the law in Victoria has regulated the commercial sex and adult industries.
Hanna & BJ were excited to be invited to participate in this ABC podcast which talks about the ways the adult industry has changed in the last few decades, as well as how it is often discriminated against financially – for example, legitimate and legal adult businesses struggle to secure loans like other successful businesses might. The podcast also discusses the unnecessary limitations imposed on the adult industry by those in positions of power, where personal beliefs lead to biased, over the top regulations that infringe on our personal and professional freedoms.
The podcast also features pivotal industry figures including MP Fiona Patten (head of the Reason Party) and Jarryd Bartle from the Eros Foundation.
Big thanks to Carly for covering this important, rarely discussed (and we think quite unfair) added layer of complexity that comes with running an adult business in Australia. Worth a listen!
